Junior karting at Three Sisters – enrol your little racers at this renowned junior kart racing school in Wigan! We are offering first drive kart sessions for kids aged between 6 and 15 years with the Bill Sisley Kart School.
Bill Sisley discovered the precociously talented eight year old Lewis Hamilton. He also helped with the careers of Johnny Herbert and Jenson Button so this really is a top-notch kart school for the kids. Based at the famous Three Sisters race circuit it’s the perfect place for mini Motorsport fans to take their first laps in karting.
Much more than just a junior karting session the Bill Sisley school aims to give a proper grounding in karting techniques even from the tender age of six. Sessions are divided into three ages groups namely the 6 and 7 years olds 8 to 11 year olds then the 12 to 15 year olds. The tiny karters race 120cc karts on the oval Bambino circuit 8-11 year olds race on the oval circuit and the older kids take to the junior kart circuit in 160cc karts.
The minimum height for the Bambinos is 4ft (1.2m) and for the Juniors it’s 4ft 2” (1.27m) but it’s good to know that the seats and the pedals adjust in these karts so children will be able to get in a comfortable driving position.
Association of Racing Karts Schools (ARKS) qualified instructors will be teaching these junior lessons. For the littlest ones it’s all about learning the basic techniques of driving and setting them off on the road to understanding how to drive on the track. The older kids will start with a track walk so they can really appreciate the layout of the circuit followed by coaching to get them started in track craft as they drive.
Both experiences offer three sessions out on the track lasting 10-minutes each so there’s plenty of hands-on track time for all ages. With no more than six mini karters in the group we think it’s the ideal set up for your little karters to really get to grips with karting. And if they really enjoy it there are opportunities to progress within this junior karting school at Three Sisters.
