Jones & Sons – Dalston’s best just got bigger

There is a new, bigger and better location for the best restaurant in Dalston and although finding it has become (slightly) more difficult, thankfully the quality of cooking on offer has not changed!

Now set in the cultural heart of the Dalston, on Gillett Square (next to exciting neighbours NTS Radio and the influential jazz venue The Vortex), you need to look for the sign… and you’ll find the restaurant tucked away in the corner…

Dalston is still one of the most creative parts of London. New bars, clubs, shops, cafe and restaurants are opening all the time. Some are pop-ups but others, like Jones & Sons, become permanent fixtures.

And I am pleased (and relieved) to say that the design, the menu, the atmosphere, the staff and most importantly, the food are all still spot-on at the new location. I’ve been quite a few times (to both venues) and have not eaten anything that wasn’t superb.

The Oxtail jus that came as an option with the steak is worthy of a much more prestigious restaurant, while the Wood Pigeon breast with wild mushrooms and a damson jus starter was easily one of the best dishes I have eaten in a long time.

The Bottomless Brunch on a Saturday is fast-becoming legendary while GQ magazine recently voted the Sunday roast as one of the top three in London!

It has moved (and I’ll miss the original location) but this is still one of my favourite restaurants in London.
