Paradise Soho – Sri Lankan small plates

Soho probably has the highest concentration of restaurants, pubs, and bars of any area in London. A stroll through its streets is a mesmerising experience – the people, the noise, the smells it’s an experience I can’t get tired of.

With so many choices it’s understandable that restaurants have to be really creative and offer interesting concepts to capture customers attention. Paradise Soho is one of the places that has done really well with this task. This small diner is offering Sri Lankan inspired small plates, a small but great selection of natural wines, and inventive cocktails.

Interior design aficionados will also appreciate the very minimalistic brutalist-inspired interior with grey concrete walls and booths. The menu is neatly split into sections by the size of the plates and the veggie options are clearly marked too. Reading the menu can be an adventure but thankfully the staff are always happy to explain the dishes in detail. A must try for me are the gigantic grilled ceylonese prawns – so tender and smokey from the charring and the cashew curry along with a hopper. The cashew curry is so moreish with a bit of spiciness to it and the curry leaf brittle served with it just brings that sweetness that cuts through the spiciness!
