I don’t usually treat myself to expensive meals or drinks in super swanky bars but I’m happy to make an exception for a glass of champagne at Searcys.
In such a beautifully grand setting you can sit back and watch the world go by, the furniture oozes class and the art deco inspired booths along the forecourt have little embroidered blankets on railings to keep your legs warm. This is quite possibly my favourite people watching spot as you have a great view of the passengers heading to the Eurostar platform. With plenty of excited couples about to venture on a romantic weekend, businessmen and women expertly streamlining to board the train and tearful hellos/goodbyes.
With it not being the cheapest place to have a tipple, I’d recommend this bar as a special treat just before a long journey or as a one drink stop off just to soak up the beautiful setting with a glass of bubbly and someone special.
