Kingscote is a 150-acre estate in the rolling hills of the East Sussex countryside. Nestled between the Weir Wood Reservoir and the Bluebell Steam Railway (you can see and hear the trains passing from the estate!) it really is an idyllic location for a vineyard. What’s more the estate is on the same latitude as the Champagne region in France and with south-facing limestone slopes it’s ideal for growing grapes.

Indeed Kingscote produces wines that have won many awards from the likes of the Decanter World Wine Awards the equivalent of the Oscars for viticulturists. Fruity Chardonnays crisp Bacchus deliciously dry sparkling whites the coveted Blanc de Noirs the rich Fat Fumé and even Kingscote’s own Cyder – they’re all produced at this East Sussex winery.

Winemaker Andy customer experience manager Ellie and their teams will be only too pleased to welcome you to Kingscote for your tour and tasting. Their aim is to show you how they strive to produce quality distinctive wines with ambition heart and passion. And that dedication really comes across as you tour the facilities. It’s a fascinating story that goes right back to the 14th-Century.

Originally built as an Iron Master’s Hall House in 1320 the farm and estate was then owned and developed by the famous horticulturist William Robinson. It wasn’t until 2010 that the estate led by the late Christen Monge planted its first vines. The Medieval tithe barn on the estate was then also completely restored and that’s where you tutored tasting will take place. It’s a stunning barn characterised by high-ceilings and exposed wood beams.
