Sunday Lunch in Reading

Sit down to a sumptuous Sunday lunch at Reading’s four star Holiday Inn hotel! No need to get a chicken to roast out of the freezer peel those potatoes or worry about lumps in your gravy treat yourselves to a wonderful meal out to round off your weekend – and there’s no washing up either!

There’s something really quite nice about going for a Sunday roast and here at the Caprice Restaurant in a business quarter near Reading you have a mouthwatering choice of modern British cuisine all freshly prepared by the hotel’s talented kitchen team. Indeed we should point out that each course can take around 20 minutes to prepare but we think tasty food made with fresh ingredients is well worth the wait.

Whether you book a table for a romantic luncheon for two or invite the whole clan over for a slap up meal you will love the sophisticated surroundings here in Reading. Despite the extensive number of covers the Caprice is warm and welcoming with a lovely mocha and caramel colour scheme going on and lots of natural light thanks to those floor to ceiling windows with a view out on the terrace.

What’s more the Caprice is the only Holiday Inn restaurant in the country to be awarded an 2 AA Rosette which is testament to the dedication of the chefs and serving team here. Service is very good with the aim of always being carried out with a smile instantly making you and your fellow diners feel welcome.

As for the menu you can go for two or three courses and there is plenty of choice to suit all diets and tastebuds. Because fresh seasonal ingredients are used all year round the actual dishes change regularly but there is invariably a red meat a white meat a fish and a veggie option on the all-important main course. And of course no Sunday would be complete without Yorkshire puddings which always feature on the lunch menu!

And this may be Reading but the choice of starters definitely has a taste of faraway places with things like Thai teriyaki prawns or Greek falafel sitting comfortably next to the likes of a classic carrot and coriander soup.

You can round off your Sunday lunch in Reading with a deliciously sweet dessert or plump for a cheese platter for a small supplement. With everything from Eton Mess and Pavlova to lemon tartlet and chocolate mousse to choose from it’s going to be a difficult choice to make that’s for sure!
