You get to choose whether you drive the Subaru Impreza STi or the Ford Focus RS on the fast tarmac track. Then there’s a front wheel drive hatchback prepped for a handbrake turn session all rounded off with a high speed passenger ride.
So let’s take a look at this duo of super fast track riders. The Subaru Impreza has earned its place in the World Rally Championship hall of fame with many stage wins under its (cam)belt. And whilst it’s not all wheel drive like the Scoobie the Ford Focus RS has more than proved itself in the world of rallying with 44 victories between 1999 and 2010. Some of our favourite drivers in the whole wide rally world have been behind the wheel of both marques of rally car used here in Staffordshire so it feels like you are driving in the bucket seats of some of the very best.
The instructors at this rallying driving centre near Stone are all fantastic – really encouraging and enthusiastic as they offer their in-car tips and training whilst you drive. For some strange reason they don’t even seem to mind you putting your foot down in their beautifully prepared rally cars to then hoon it around the track – they won’t even expect you to wash the cars down after or pay for replacement tyres!
On this taster experience you will be driving the Scooby or the Focus for six delicious laps on the circuit. That’ll be plenty of time for you to feel the power of these motor sport heroes. You will then head over to the skid pan course where a hatchback is ready and waiting to take you for some handbrake turn and spin training – your chance to learn some rally basics.
