Rachel spent fifteen years in food and hospitality in the north-east before she started writing about it instead. She's interested in the places that feed you properly, the regional food traditions nobody's turned into a TV show yet, and the cafés that locals actually use. Born in Newcastle. Currently working her way through every independent bakery in Yorkshire.

Daniel grew up in Shropshire and spent his thirties in logistics, which took him to every unglamorous corner of Britain and gave him an unreasonable affection for transport cafés, Victorian market halls and pubs that haven't changed since 1987. He writes about the parts of the country that don't make the brochures. Lives in Herefordshire with two opinionated dogs.

Philippa studied history at Leicester and spent a decade in museums before deciding she'd rather write history for people who don't already work in them. She focuses on the past you can still touch — sites, buildings and stories that feel immediate rather than preserved. Lives in Derbyshire. Visits too many churches for someone with no strong religious convictions.
