You may never have heard of Blackbushe but back in its heyday during the 1950s the airfield was a major hub for cargo and passenger services. Then as Heathrow and Gatwick developed Blackbushe quietened down to become a tranquil civil airport. With both un-restricted and busy controlled airspace on the doorstep this makes for a fun and challenging place for your first experience at the helm of the heli.
Thanks to it’s position on top of a hill as soon as you’re airborne you’ll be able to see the skyline of the capital on the horizon (as long as it’s a clear day!). That elevated position also means the aerodrome often avoids fog that hinders other nearby airports so lessons are offered all year round. You will also fly over the lovely Yateley Common that surrounds the perimeter of the airfield and see the likes of Camberley from the air too.
