Get into Iron Man’s Audi – and drive off! Of course this R8 isn’t Tony Stark’s actual Audi (that one’s far too busy looking shiny and polished in the Stark Industries car park with it’s Stark 4 personal numberplate). But you’ll still feel like you’ve got superhero super powers when you get your hands on this supercar.
We are offering Iron Man style R8 drives at a whole host of tracks and circuits around the UK for adults and children. (Kids need to be at least 4ft5″ and 10 years old or more). Of course when our Tone is behind the wheel he tends to weave in and out of heavy traffic on the super highways of the US of A (and never even gets a scratch on his R8) being typically bold to the point of being precocious. You’ll certainly be encouraged to ‘go for it’ and put your foot down when you’re at the helm of this Iron Man car but there’ll be no superhero antics in this R8!
You’d have to agree though the Audi R8 is the perfect whip for someone like Tony Stark. No-one can deny this playboy business man’s engineering talent and his desire to rid the world of evil threats is very commendable. We’re sure Stark appreciates the technical brilliance of the R8 especially the e-tron version he drove in his third Iron Man film. And if you like your old school cars add the Shelby to your driving experience line-up. It looks just like the bright blue 1965 Shelby that Stark destroyed when he fell through a roof onto the top of the car whilst testing his flying suit!
And whilst we all might dream of having a super suit like Anthony Edward Stark you are not obliged to come to your driving day dressed as Iron Man. Or even in a sharp Stark-style suit for that matter. What’s important on these drives is that you focus on the racing line to steer the Iron Man car smoothly through the chicanes allowing you to accelerate effortlessly on your exit.

Fancy a bit of Audi driving in Hertfordshire? Head down to Bovingdon Airfield for a high-speed Audi R8 drive that’ll knock your socks off in that very precise German way. This is the amazing R8 and you are going to be in charge of it for 10 fabulous laps…
Bovingdon is a great place to test drive a car. Any car in fact. So imagine our delight when we heard a gleaming Audi R8 has joined the line up of cars here at Bovingdon? This base near Hemel Hempstead is well-loved by the film and TV industry as a filming location and you can see why. It’s vast. It’s got excellent road links. The tarmac track offers a range of low and high speed corners. What’s not to love?
This track day operator and motorsport specialist has laid out a smooth tarmac test track at Bovingdon Airfield that the Audi R8 will love. This is a bespoke track for these supercar drives which means it’s been designed so you can get the most out of those high performance cars as you go pummelling those corners and curves. Indeed with names like ‘Esses’ ‘Bliss Chicane’ and ‘Achilles’ you just know it’s going to be a good one.
All those sweeping corners and technical bends requires some racing knowledge. That’s why this Audi driving session in Herts starts with some spotting laps with the instructor driving. You’ll head off around the track to suss out the racing line and braking points in something hot like an Evo an STi or an M3. The heat will then be turned up with a high speed passenger lap until the thermostat reaches boiling point when you step into the low-slung R8…
Get ready for 10 laps driving this supercar heavyweight from Quattro GmbH. We think you’ll love the way it drives. Solid as you’d expect but with a little Latin flamboyancy that’s itching to get out reflecting that Italian bloodline with Lamborghini. And let’s face it if an e-tron R8 is good enough for Marvel legend Tony Stark and that hairy chap Wolverine it’s good enough for all of us isn’t it?
As you roll back into the pits after you ten laps of Audi driving at this Hertfordshire track take a moment to reflect on what you’ve just done. It’s quite possibly the first time you’ve taken the wheel of a car that’s capable of accelerating that growling 4.2l V8 engine to reach 0-60mph in just 3.2 seconds. The first generation R8 road car was first presented at the Paris Motor Show in 2006 and the second generations appeared in mid-2015 with a facelift in 2012. We have got one of those original V8 versions for you to test with that impressive 4.2l engine. We think everyone who likes cars and motoring should drive an R8 at least once in their life.
And of course being an Audi the R8 proudly wears that Quattro badge highlighting the handling prowess of this beast thanks to that celebrated all wheel drive system. We are currently offering R8 testing sessions at three different venues around the UK. The track layout might differ at each one but this supercar handles them all with that typical German efficiency yet with a hint of Latin hot-headedness which makes this motor such a mix and such a delight. You’ll find it’s a very drivable car that you could actually use every day (although taking it to supermarket car park would strike fear in your heart) – but of course there’s no room for passengers in this a resolutely two seater!
There’s just enough room then for you and your professional driver who’ll be in the passenger seat next to you. Whilst your take the Audi R8 for your three or six mile test drive they will be on hand to give you ‘calls’ on when to go hard on the brakes and when you can hit that throttle and accelerate off.
