Kids 4×4 North Yorkshire

Kids 4×4 North Yorkshire

This junior off road driving experience takes place on a 40 acre site in the North Yorkshire countryside it’s specially aimed at youngsters who are keen to have a go behind the wheel of a proper 4×4 vehicle. The venue is close to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and a few miles from the A1.

The experience starts with a safety briefing and a short explanation of how 4x4s work before the juniors head off on their very own driving session. All tuition is done on a one to one basis so youngsters have the undivided attention of the fully qualified off road driving instructor for the entire time they are behind the wheel negotiating the challenging off road obstacles

Choose from a junior session lasting either 30 minutes or one hour. The driving time can be shared with another youngster for a fee of £29 payable at the centre or you may choose the 4×4 part where up to four juniors can share the one hour drive time. There are no minimum age restrictions they just need to be tall enough (5ft) to be able to reach the pedals. And with power-assisted steering and brakes they don’t need to be mega strong to handle these big beefed up off road vehicles.

Let’s face it how many kids get the chance to drive a real 4×4 before they’ve even driven a normal hatchback with L plates on? It’s a new challenge and one they are sure to remember. This mind-blowing outing will be the envy of their friends – in fact it would make a great treat for them as well.

The professional instructors are highly experienced and qualified with years of practice teaching courses for beginners and advanced drivers. They put safety first while their friendly and enthusiastic approach will help build the confidence and skill of your young driver. If you know a teen who’d relish this experience it’s time to get booking!

Under 17s Off-Road Driving

Under 17s Off-Road Driving

Challenge the teens to some under 17s off-road driving! Test their mettle with  off-road experiences just for those under 17 years of age. These sessions give your teens the chance to get behind the wheel of a 4×4 and take on the rugged terrain.

The beauty of these experiences is that they are really flexible. We are offering 30 and 60-minute sessions. What’s more Mum or Dad can ride as a passenger. Mind you it might be a good idea to check that your fledging off-road drivers don’t actually mind you being there with them though – as sometimes we all know there’s nothing worse than a back-seat driver!

The cars used for the off-road experiences are suitably adapted for under 17s. They are all dual-control so there’ll be no going out of control. The fleet is made up of Land Rover Defenders and Mercedes X-Class vehicles both of which look really cool and are really cool to drive – especially when you hit the off-road terrain.

As for where these lessons take place we’ve got a selection of venues across the UK. Each one boasts an all-terrain off-road course which might be anything from rutted woodland paths weaving in and out of the trees to slippery bogs and plenty of mud!

The backdrops for each venue are different too. Your youngsters might be in the wilds with thousands of acres of fields all around exploring the grounds of a posh manor house taking in properly muddy farmland trails or adventuring around a fancy country estate. All are really really good fun and of course well away from public roads.

You’ll need to be 11 or over and under 17 for these off-road driving experiences. There’s absolutely no need to have any previous driving experience as that is all part of the training to get to grips with the basics of driving. Drivers just need to be tall enough to see over the steering wheel which means at least 1.42m tall. If they’re young enough and tall enough they can off-road!

Teen Land Rover Driving Newcastle

Teen Land Rover Driving Newcastle

This is teen driving in Newcastle – and it’s in a very special vehicle! If you know a youngster who’s mad about motoring this junior offroading session is brilliant fun because they’ll be at the wheel of a fab Land Rover Defender.

There’s no denying that Land Rovers are cool. Land Rover Defenders in particular are very cool. A classic Landy that has a very special job as an escort vehicle is pretty much the pinnacle of coolness in our book and that’s just what they will be driving on these teen drives in Newcastle.

Affectionately known as ‘Red One’ by this Newcastle team the long wheel base Landy certainly looks the part. Rugged reliable and a real hero of the off road world the much praised Red One has a very special role with this crew. Often seen leading the charge on the public roads Red One escorts the huge low-loaders that are used to transport things like tanks and other heavy military vehicles around.

And we have to say Red One is a proper workhorse Landy just like they were always meant to be. Bright red body work and white top the integrated roof rack complete with yellow lights powerful front winch and huge ‘Escort Vehicle’ panels make it pretty obvious this motor means business.

Teens will love driving this 4×4. Youngsters will be out on this Newcastle training course for around 20 minutes with an experienced instructor in the front passenger seat to guide them. During that time they will be negotiating the coned out course to see if Red One can be tamed.

The only prerequisites for these junior driving sessions near Newcastle are that youngsters are at least 5ft 2” tall (so they can reach the pedals) and aged between 14 and 18 years old. If they tick those two boxes they’ll be off tackling the track at the heart of this extensive country estate. What’s more there’s a seat available for them to nominate someone to ride along with them. Be a passenger if your dare!

Junior 4×4 Driving Experience

Can children drive 4×4 cars? They certainly can on these junior offroad driving experiences that are available at venues nationwide! Give your little ones the chance to rip it up on the rough terrain with these experiences aimed just at the kids.

Mud. Water. Banked turns. Steep hills and sharp descents. We’ve got it all for the lucky kids who will be getting their hands on these impressive four wheel drive off roading vehicles. And with a fine portfolio of centres around the country your teen tearaways will be spoilt for choice as to where they choose to take their junior off road experience.

Of course each venue varies but children can expect to be tackling tricky tracks and trails anywhere from disused quarries and farm estates to purpose-build obstacle circuits and open fields filled with rutted paths. Kids might be avoiding the trees in the dense forest or negotiating the routes that are at seemingly impossible gradient.

Now if you’re wondering how a child can possibly drive anywhere in the UK without having a licence we can tell you that they’ll be on private land away from the public roads and many of the 4x4s used are dual control with automatic transmission. Plus all the fun of off roading is the obstacles you come up against rather than how fast you can go. Indeed the youngsters will learn it’s all about control.

All UK-wide venues are offering these 4×4 sessions on a one-to-one basis which means there’s no sharing the driving and no waiting around. Mini off-roaders will have the undivided attention of their assigned instructor for the duration of the experience. And we have to say the tuition is second to none with a great many of them being long-time BORDA (British Off Road Driving Association) instructors.

As for the actual cars the kids will be getting their hands on again it depends on the where the venue is in the UK but it will be something like a Land Rover Defender. In every case it’ll be a proper 4×4 that’s fully off road ready and capable of driving right through those deep water troughs whilst having mud splattered right up to the door handles. Get the kids booked in now for a junior offroad driving experience – they’ll love it!

Junior 4×4 Driving Scotland

Junior 4×4 Driving Scotland

Give those grumpy teens something to smile about with a kids 4×4 experience in Scotland! Junior off road heroes will adore this outdoor centre near the little village of Gartmore – it’s where all the serious off roading action takes place!

No need to swot for a theory test and no need to impress your driving examiner to pass your test to be able to take part in one of these junior 4×4 sessions. In fact who cares about licences and L plates when youngsters are more than welcome to bust some off road moves at this Gartmore centre that’s well away from the public roads on a farm estate?

What we love most about this set up near the picturesque village of Gartmore is the instruction that’s included on every experience. Most kiddies attending will have never even driven before so some time is spent learning about clutch control and gears if it’s a manual transmission 4×4 that’s being used on that day. This Scottish operator also uses automatic off roaders too which means teaching is more geared to vehicle control and steering.

As you might suspect for a 4×4 driving centre in the heart of Scotland’s lowlands it can rain a fair bit. But rather than putting a dampener on the proceedings soggy squishy mud all around just makes the whole experience even more fun. We have to say the kids really do love it when it’s mud-splashes-up-to-the-door-handles kind of conditions. Just make sure they’re not wearing their best designer white trainers when they arrive for their drive!

To start off these junior sessions the expert off road instructor hosting the day will take the kids out in the 4×4 on a recce so everyone can see the sort of terrain they will be tackling. Then it’s over to the future generation of motorists to show us what they’ve got. Bumping and bouncing around all over the shop being jostled and jolted as you climb then hanging on for dear life during the big drop descents this is what junior 4x4ing in Scotland is all about and what this purpose-built course was made for!
