Archery Bedfordshires

Archery Bedfordshires

Nock your arrow like a pro after a lesson in archery! This shooting range in Bedfordshire is the perfect place for couples or friends to take aim and hit bulls-eye whether you’re beginner archers or folkloric hunting legends.

This exclusive experience for two gives you personalised and dedicated tuition from one of the centre’s trained instructors showing you everything a bowman or woman needs to know from stance and pose to the best way to hit the target. This archery range is 30ft in length which gives you plenty of room for manoeuvre and the bows in question are light enough to hold comfortably and sturdy enough to send your arrows flying straight and true.

The targets you’ll be aiming for throughout the session are the circular standard archery target boards. Of course it’s only to be expected that some shots will fall short wide or go in completely the wrong direction. If you don’t mind a bit of archery rivalry and banter then the Bedfordshire venue is the perfect place to do this fun-filled activity with a friend or partner. You both share the instruction and tuition lining up on the target range and firing your shots.

If bows and arrows aren’t quite your thing Crossbow options are also available. Just like the archery the crossbow range is purpose built and is supervised at all times and after tuition you’ll be aiming at a range of targets.

But if you believe that a master shooter lurks inside then a session of archery in Milton Keynes is totally the experience you’ll both love. Archery in London

Archery in London

If like us you never would have thought there was anywhere you could do archery in London prepare to be pleasantly surprised as we have found a superb indoor archery centre offering taster lessons in the London Bridge area. Forget about seeing the sights it’s time to get the bullseye in your sights!

Lessons take place at either of the two venues this friendly and lively archery club uses in the vicinity of Bermondsey and London Bridge . The whole team is incredibly enthusiastic and loves nothing better than to welcome archers of all ages and teach them how to shoot.

Now a popular precision sport (and many of the archery instructors here at this London club have competed to pretty high level) archery has its roots in hunting and combat as well as popular tales such as William Tell who had to shoot an apple off the top of his son’s head with a bow and arrow – and now here’s your chance to take your stand and take a shot yourself.

All equipment and coaching is included with gear suitable for those as young as 11 always in stock here in London. Archery lessons all start with an introduction to the kit used and the safety rules of this indoor centre. The first task is to set up your stance on the shooting line with the bow pointing toward the target. Next you’ll load the bow by placing the shaft of the arrow on the arrow rest and complete the loading by ‘knocking the arrow’ – that is placing the rear end of the arrow onto the string. Then you’ll take sight and release!

The bows used are modern recurve bows the same style as shot at the Olympics as opposed to long bows which are less suitable for beginners to use. During your lesson you’ll get to know just how a bow and arrow work together and you may be introduced to some technical archery terms so you’ll be able to tell what the fletching on an arrow is. By the end of the session you’ll be shooting well enough to take part in a fun competition to find out who is the best archer on the day.

Archery London ‘Have a go’ lessons last for around an hour and a half in total and are a great way to discover this sport. All coaches at this professional indoor archery club in London are highly experienced and the head coaches are fully qualified and registered with Archery GB.

Archery in Nottinghamshire

Archery in Nottinghamshire

Archery in Nottingham – surely no location could be a more iconic setting for learning this traditional shooting sport. Hidden within the depths of Sherwood Forest lie 150 acres waiting to be explored and you could say it’s the spiritual home of archery courtesy of Robin Hood and his band of merry men.

Your bowshot session lasts between 45 and 60 minutes and includes full instruction in how to hold aim and fire your bow and arrow. Archery isn’t a skill that comes naturally to some people but the instructors at our Nottinghamshire activity centre are on hand to guide you through the techniques for drawing and releasing with speed and accuracy.

You’ll be fitted out with a suitable bow for your age and ability with standard recurve bows being a favourite ‘all-round’ design with archers everywhere. The Nottingham venue can cater for children as young as six years old but novices and seasoned pros alike are welcome and there’s something to challenge every ability range.

Your archery voucher is valid for a minimum of two people and a maximum of 20 meaning couples families or entire bands of merry men (and women) can all get something special from this target-based activity. If you’d prefer an exclusive lesson then a minimum of six people must book for weekend slots and 12 people on weekdays. However given the amount of time you’ll spend on the practice range this experience offers excellent value for money.

With no dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham lurking in the trees to aim for so you’ll be shooting arrows at standard circular archery boards. Don’t be surprised if to begin with you completely miss the target it won’t be long before a bulls-eye is yours and the sweet taste of victory lingers long after you’ve left the magical forest in Sherwood.

Surrounded by beautiful woodlands and an air of myth and folklore Sherwood Forest is the perfect scene for some archery antics and participants both young and old cannot fail to appreciate the aptness of learning the time-honoured sport of archery here. Nottingham and Sherwood Forest in particular is the perfect location for learning this skilled craft and a session in these woods will be a surefire hit with any sharp shooters out there.

Jon and Penny run this 10-acre farm estate offering camping glamping and target sports in the heart of the Pembrokeshire countryside near Whitland. A talented sportsman and coach Jon loves all the space he has here to teach his favourite target sports. For archery there’s both an indoor and outdoor range so any inclement Welsh weather that’s looming won’t stop your bow and arrow fun. Jon and his Archery GB qualified instructors will soon have you shooting your arrows straight and true right into those roundel targets.

Axe throwing is as thrilling as you’d expect. How good is it going to feel when you lob an Tomahawk axe to land with a great big thud into the wooden panel? You’ll even get to try the same with knives too. In essence there’s a range of throwing weapons so see which one suits you!

Then there’s aerial archery. With your regular bow and arrow you’ll be taking aim at the flying targets which are 25cm diameter foam disks. Jon is a firm believer that this target sport offers a much more environmentally friendly spin on your classic clay shooting because the discs are reusable and the target launcher runs off a wind and solar powered battery. It’s also great fun giving an extra dimension to traditional archery.

For these target sports experiences in Pembrokeshire we are offering vouchers for archery or axe throwing alone a combo experience that combines the two or a triple giving you archery axe throwing and aerial archery too. Easily accessible from popular coastal areas such as Tenby Saundersfoot and Wiseman’s Bridge an afternoon of target shooting is the perfect pastime whether you’re on holiday or local to the area.
