Having had your first taste of the buggy rallying in Brum you’ll be itching to get behind the wheel of the high-power high-thrills two-seater Revolutions. Brilliantly engineered to be super lightweight and agile these babies boast 220bhp. It really is going to be seat-of-your-pants stuff as you learn how to rally in this beast of a buggy.
And yes they are technically buggies but all the classic rally techniques still apply here. That’s to say you’ll be shown (depending on which buggy rally voucher you choose) how to handle oversteer understeer racing lines throttle control braking and clutch control (it’s worth noting Revolution buggies are six-gear manuals). You’ll even get to tackle Scandinavian flicks if you go for the full day buggy rally experience!
On all experiences you’ll be driving both the Rebel buggy and the 4×2 Revolution. You’ll also be treated to a high speed passenger ride in a top of the range 4×4 version. Driven by one of the day’s pro drivers it’ll take buggy rally antics to a whole new level and you’ll be holding on for dear life as you hurtle around the track busting flicks and handbrake turns as you go.

Book an extreme Rage Buggy experience and you’ll be signing up for the School of Rage! We’ve got a full range of extreme buggy options for you each of which gives you plenty of opportunity to try and get to grips with these amazing little machines that are quite literally all the rage.
Rage Motorsport is the company behind these buggies. You will be driving a Hurricane buggy which is one of the most high-performance models produced. They’re just like the ones you seen bouncing across the scorching desert landscape in the Dakar race so yes they are pretty extreme!
Indeed the stats speak for themselves. A 1050cc Yamaha FX Nyto engine produces 140bhp. On a chassis this light that means you can easily clock up a 0-60mph time of less than four seconds. And as for the top speed? Well you can top 120mph if you’ve got your foot to the metal on a nice straight section.
Where these extreme rage buggies really come into their own is on loose surfaces. You won’t be seeking out the smooth tarmac on these experiences it’s all about gravel and grass. This operator will section off a part of the rally stage just for Rage School pupils and this is where you’ll learn your craft.
If you’re on the Blast experience you’ll have around 10 laps to try and tame the Hurricane buggy. You might find you’re chomping at the bit for more though so maybe go for the Thrill which gives you 20 laps of the track. That way you’ll hopefully have time to perfect your handling skills.
We highly recommend the Ultimate extreme rage buggy experiences. These half-day courses give you three separate driving sessions. After an initiation to learn Scandi flicks and hydro handbrake skills you will be let loose on the full rally stage for two more drives giving you loads of laps. The whole event is nicely rounded off with a passenger ride in the Rage.

Can you cut it in the grass kart? These funky off road go karts are great to drive on the green stuff. You’re sure to be grappling like mad with the steering on this brilliant grass karting track in Fordsham.
Designed and built in the UK the Gemini Dominator kart is a right little pocket of punchiness. With a really low centre of gravity but impressive ground clearance at the same time they handle really well on this Cheshire off road karting circuit. They are also really easy to drive too – it’s just a case of rev and go – so those as young as 12 can drive them making this a superb choice for families and small groups alike.
Of course we have to admit that the Gemini does look like a roll cage on wheels but that’s what makes it so agile. That space-frame chassis is tough but lightweight and the lack of body panels helps keep the overall weight down and the fun factor up. Yes you’ll feel pretty exposed in the completely open cockpit but bouncing along in your off road go kart is all par for the course with these sort of buggies.
As for build extras on the Gemini? Well if you’re lucky you might get mud guards. But we think kicking up the turf and soil is all part of grass karting. Don’t go expecting anything fancy like ABS power steering or comforts like a windscreen – this is (excuse the pun) grass roots go karting at its best.
After being shown the Dominator’s controls you’ll be out there on your own on the track. That’s because these Geminis are single seater so there’s no room for anyone to hitch a ride. It’s up to you to go out there and go for it. Those extra knobbly tyres on the buggy will do you proud as you swing into and out of the corners take flight over the bumps and accelerate off down the straight.
It’s pretty full-on piloting an off road kart like the Gemini so experiences are run with a maximum of three karts on the track at any one time. You’ll be taking your madcap buggy out for 10 laps of the four-acre circuit filled with drifting bends chicanes lumps and bumps.

Introducing the Blitzworld Vigilante dirt buggies in Cheshire! These machines are in a completely different league to your typical off road kart. The Vigilante buggy has a car engine and a manual gear box so they go like the clappers. Fancy taking one on as a duo? Here’s all the pair of you need to know on this buggy experience for two.
The team who design and make these mad little buggies have come up with a winner in the Vigilante. It’s purely for off-road use. It has a full NASCAR-type roll cage and racing harnesses (which have proved pretty useful for some rather trigger happy buggyers!) has full independent suspension FOX nitrogen damped shocks on the rear and 12” alloys fitted with blank tread tyres.
Yep this dirt buggy certainly walks the walk and talks the talk. Which is why this Cheshire team has devised a seriously challenging circuit for their resident Vigilantes. These hardy machines take all the off road use and abuse in their stride and just keep on going. And going. Whatever the weather.
The main buggy driving season at this Cheshire venue is spring and summer. The ground is brilliantly hard and bouncy with plenty of opportunity to get the dust flying at spectacular speed. And of course the circuit includes the obligatory water splashes so expect to be getting mucky whilst you buggy. And that’s what it’s all about.
For these dirt buggy sessions in Cheshire you’ll be a pair (as the Vigilante is a two seater). Your voucher is for two people so whilst one of you is driving the other will be passenger keeping that buggy nicely balanced as you screech round the bends. You can choose to swap over mid-way or not so it’s an ideal experience if there’s a non-driver. For those keen to take on these powerful buggies you will need to know how to use a manual gearbox as the Vigilantes have normal car engines!

Go drive an off road buggy in Birmingham and find yourself out on the track racing with multiple buggies! This Birmingham Wheels track is the only one in the country where you can race in the impressive 931cc WA Rebel buggy on a purpose-built gravel rally stage. Experience all the thrills of off road racing in a right little Rebel!
Indeed these Walker Adams built Rebels certainly pack a punch. They’re side-by-side racers with Cobra bucket seats full racing harness and apart from the 931cc engine right behind your head nothing else! This is pared-down buggying at its best. There’s a little bit of netting instead of doors and forget any hint of windscreen or roof it’s just a metal roll-cage all round.
What’s more you won’t be out there on your own. As we mentioned this is the only place in the whole of the UK where you can properly race against each other with up to six Rebel buggies out on the track at once. You get a staggered start and the time of the game is to close down and overtake other drivers.
Each driver will be participating in three races and remember it’s not who crosses the finish line first that counts – it’s all down to your individual lap times. These are measured by computer-controlled timing equipment so you’ll be able to track your position throughout the event. Each buggy driver gets a print out of their times for the whole session and the driver with the six fastest laps over the course of their off road buggy session will be crowned Birmingham’s best with prizes for second and third on the podium too.
If you’re coming along to watch you’re in for a real treat. Birmingham Wheels just two miles from the city centre is set on a mound so spectators get great views of the cityscape and the track – especially during floodlit nighttime Rebel buggy races.
