If the idea of a vegetarian restaurant is enough to see you recoil in horror and send you sprinting off towards the nearest steakhouse, Ceremony could be the place to change your mind. This new (September 2017) arrival on the burgeoning Tufnell Park scene is already living up to the expectations spawned by other nearby treats such as Bear + Wolf (check out the Bear + Wolf article).
The menu is one of those that disarms the indecisive and focuses the mind-it’s very short-while the setting is fresh and intimate, with just one row of window-side tables, a few booths and a bar reserved for walk-ins. I haven’t tried it for dinner yet, but the breakfast was as glorious as any bacon rasher I could have hoped for; the green omelette and the sweet potato pancakes were both deliciously moreish. There are also cocktails, alcoholic and otherwise, and, as you’d expect, ample provision for vegans.
