London has no shortage of wine bars, that’s for sure! However, in a big city like London, sometimes places lack true purpose and attention to their customers. Well, let me tell you, Unwined is definitely not one of those wine bars!
As you can probably guess from its catchy name it’s a perfect place to unwind with a glass (or two) of wine. This little wine bar is run by an amazing team with a great passion for wine. Their mission is to show people that you don’t have to spend a fortune to drink good wine and that wine can be fun even if you don’t know how to describe the notes like a master sommelier. As an independent wine bar their focus is on stocking wines from smaller producers, lesser known regions and grape varieties, and also female winemakers. They do regular wine tastings which are a great opportunity to try many of the wines in stock and they’re really good value for money (£20-25 for 5 wines plus some cheese)!
At their Waterloo site which is my favourite, they also have a kitchen serving a small but delicious menu of various small plates. Both the wine and food menus are changed regularly! Apart from being such an unpretentious, cosy, and down to earth place, the one thing I love most about Unwined is their friendly and relaxed attitude that can be rare to find in the busy city life!
