Bloomsbury Farmers’ Market – A mid week treat

Food markets don’t need much introduction. It’s the type of place where you can go with a group of people and there will be something for everyone to choose from. There are lots of them all around London. Some are a bit further afield and others are very central but yet have a nice local vibe to them.

One of those is the Bloomsbury farmers market – a small market for fresh produce and lots of different food stalls held every Thursday on Bloomsbury square. Since it’s very close to my office it has become a bit of a tradition for us to go and pick up something and eat in the nearby park or on one of the benches near the church opposite the market in summer. In winter though we usually just bring it and eat it in the office.

They have so many different options that sometimes it’s difficult to choose from but here are a few I tend to gravitate to: the fresh pasta stand, the Turkish gozleme by Anatolia, or one of the hearty dishes from the French Le Petit Moulin Traiteur. On some days if I feel cheeky I’ll top it all up with a piece of cake from Cakehole. The market is very popular with students too as the University of London is located nearby so it’s a great place for people watching and observing the hustle and bustle of London.
