Milk cafe – Best brunch in London

Being a 90s child I do love a good brunch and it was a bit of an obsession of mine to find all the good brunch spots in London when I moved here. Well, I was lucky to find the best one in my own neighbourhood! Milk cafe in Balham is by far the best brunch spot in the city as far as I am concerned and I’ll explain why! First of all the interior is funky and understated, kind of what you’d expect from a cool brunch spot! Secondly, Milk works with sustainable and local suppliers to source their ingredients. Thirdly, the coffee comes from some well-known roasters such as The Barn in Berlin, the Swedish Koppi, and the Assembly from down the road in Brixton.

The menu has all the brunch classics you’d expect and also some more unusual offerings as well as weekend specials that change regularly and depending on the season. My all-time favourite is the “Young Betty” – their version of eggs Benedict but with burnt butter hollandaise which trust me makes all the difference! If you’re after a sweet brunch option then their buckwheat pancakes are not to be missed!

Beware that they do not take reservations so on the weekends it’s not uncommon to queue for a bit but it’s well worth the wait!
