Let’s give a shout out to the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, a stunning venue that opened in 2013. Just the appearance is worth the visit; it looks like a shiny alien spaceship landed in the heart of the city. I have seen some legendary acts here – from the Killers to the Spice Girls. The Hydro holds a special place in my heart.
The best part? A wee trip to the West End before or after a gig is a must. Go on, treat yourself to some haggis (yes, it’s better than it sounds). I once got lost in a bagpipe shop looking for, well, anything but bagpipes. It was fascinating, but talk about random! If you time your gig with one of the local football matches, the atmosphere becomes electric, trust me.
