Celebrate Curzon Soho’s 60th birthday with a series of special screenings

Film stars may have come and gone, and directors fallen in and out of favour, but for the last 60 years Curzon Soho has been in the middle of it all – bringing the best of independent cinema to the area throughout every era.

In its tenure, the venue has had name changes (from The Columbia to Curzon West End to its current incarnation) and redevelopments, but now, as it gets its free bus pass, it’s raising a glass to the last six decades with a series of special screenings.

On February 4 (the venue’s proper birthday), they’ll be showing ‘Gigi’ – the first film ever screened at the cinema, for its premiere – introduced by its star, the iconic Leslie Caron. Later in the month you’ll be able to check out showings of acclaimed flicks ‘Call Me by Your Name’, ‘We Need To Talk About Kevin’ and ‘The Remains of the Day’.

And if you’re a Curzon member, each film will set you back a measly £5.

So happy birthday and here’s to the next 60. Curzon Soho: you’re an oldie, but still a goodie.
