Top 5 Bars for Summer Drinks in London

Being mid-August I may have slightly missed the boat on this one. This post could be titled ‘nice bars I’ve been to recently’ but that wouldn’t be as good for SEO so here are my current favourites for summer drinks…

1. L’Azur at Four Seasons Hotel at Park Lane

Fancy a taste of the South of France in the middle of London? Well Four Seasons Hotel at Park Lane has you covered with their gorgeous pop-up L’Azur located on the terrace.
The yacht-inspired bar serves luxurious Dom Pérignon champage as well as refreshing cocktails such as L’Azur Spritz, the Four Seasons take on the traditional Aperol Spritz. And don’t forget to try a few of the Niçoise-style nibbles.

2. The Polo Bar at The Westbury

A few weeks ago my dear friend Binny hosted myself and group of lovely lady bloggers at the famous Polo Bar at the Westbury Hotel in London. We were there to try the ‘Season of Flowers’ cocktails – fabulous botanical cocktails inspired by summer florals!
With Swarovski Crystal fittings and custom Fendi detailing the bar itself is a luxurious Art Deco dream and the cocktails themselves are gorgeous. They think of everything here as a mini cocktail comes along each drink so that your friend can easily sample it too!

On the menu are:

Gem Marigold An exquisite blend of Gin, Campari, freshly squeezed pomegranate and pineapple foam.
Viola Mule A floral twist on the classic Moscow Mule. Vodka infused Blue Pea flower with a zesty base and spicy ginger finish.
Dianthus Dark Rum balanced with rosebud tea and peach.

There are also delicious nibbles on the menu to enjoy alongside the cocktails.

3. Mr Fogg’s House of Botanicals

I randomly met Mr S after work at the latest bar from the Inception Group so I don’t have any of my own photos from Mr Fogg’s House of Botanicals. But I loved the utterly Instagrammable decor inspired by  flora and fauna collected from all over the world. There’s a more casual downstairs bar or you can make a reservation upstairs to and try The Secret Language of Flowers Menu; inspired by the Victorian tradition of expressing secret emotions through the giving of certain flowers.

There are plenty of floral themed cocktails on the menu but the signature spirit at Mr Foggs is gin and you’ll definitely find a herbaceous libation or a twist on a G&T that takes your fancy.

4. Laurent-Perrier’s Midsummer Terrace at Mondrian London

Here for summer is the Laurent-Perrier’s Midsummer Terrace at Mondrian London, a pastel pink floral feast with views of St Paul’s Cathedral.
In celebration of 50 years of Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé the Midsummer Terrace offers a bespoke menu pairing rosé champagne with Sea Containers signature cuisine. Head here at the weekend to enjoy a bottomless brunch including scrumptious seafood options.

5. Coppa Club

The utterly Instagrammable Coppa Club at Tower Bridge has become famous for the Paradise pods, riverside location and views of the London skyline, the Shard in particular. But not only is it Instagrammable, Coppa Club is one of those places where you can come for food or drinks and know it’ll be fun and lively with something on the menu for everyone.
With bohemian vibes, the river-side pods are themed around Tulum with exotic palm leaves and cacti. The pods are so popular that we couldn’t get a booking months in advance and are now sold out til September. Rumour has it though that lucky walk-ins may just snag one! On the menu are filling dishes of pizza, pasta and salads as well as classic cocktails.

Those are my five bars for summer in London. Do you have any recommendations?
